Sustainable Sidmouth

Sidmouth is officially part of the nationwide Transition Town initiative. This initiative aims to bring together local communities to think about and plan how the communities themselves can respond to the challenges and opportunities presented by diminishing fossil fuel stocksl and Climate Change.  The purpose of the initiative is to make local communities more resilient with regard to food, energy, transport and other essentials of life and reduce dependence on unpredictable external impacts.
